Objectives

The Planning Commission was established in 1938 by Town Council Ordinance #250. The Planning Commission membership and policies were revised by Ordinances #373, #608 and #735. The Commission continually evaluates the general plan and advises the Town Council, recommending the implementation of ordinances, and broad changes in zoning. The commission also hears and determines applications for:

  • Design review
  • Use Permits
  • Variances   
  • Zoning changes
  • Planned developments

Statements of Economic Interest
The seven Planning Commissioners are identified in Section 87200 CGC as filers of statements of economic interests with the San Anselmo Town Clerk.  Copies of these statements of economic interests may be obtained by visiting the office of the Fair Political Practices Commission (428 J St., Ste, 620, Sacramento, CA 95814) or the office of the Town Clerk (525 San Anselmo Ave, San Anselmo, CA 94960).  Statements of economic interests for some state and local government agency elected officers may be available in an electronic format on the Commission's Internet Web site.
