Biography

Linda has a deep passion for libraries that started when her hometown library put a crawl-in haunted house for Halloween in the children’s room. Though it was, in retrospect, just a tiny structure with spooky red lights and fog, it made a big impression and allowed her to dream that anything can happen in a library. And it can!

She was responsible for expanding and growing the Braille Institute Library in Santa Barbara, created the first Teen Library program in Marin County for the San Rafael Public Library, was a Children's Librarian at the Palo Alto Children's Library, and prior to San Anselmo, managed the new Pickleweed Library in San Rafael.

Linda believes that libraries are essential to an educated and thriving society, starting with Baby Bounce for the youngest patrons and continuing throughout life with meaningful programs and collections for all ages. The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg remains her favorite book.

Linda is on the Board of the Marin Literacy Program and is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish. A graduate of UC Santa Barbara with a B.A. in Psychology, Linda received her Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from California State University, San Jose. Linda and her family live in Fairfax.

Linda Meneses Kenton brings 20 years of library experience to the Town of San Anselmo as Town Librarian and is extremely grateful for the opportunity.
