About Flood Control Zones
Within the Flood Control District several flood control zones have been created in areas with specific flooding problems. The zones can perform many functions, including:

• The cleaning and maintenance of creeks
• The construction, operation and maintenance of levees, pumping stations, culverts and drainage ways

All major actions by the zones require authorization by the Board of Supervisors of the Flood Control District. San Anselmo's representative to the Flood Zone 9 Advisory Board is Councilmember Tom McInerney.
