| Bringing people in a community together to create something isn't a new idea. Actually, it's a return to an older, deeper concept of community. Today's world doesn't offer many opportunities for us to work together with our neighbors on projects like the old-time barn-raising. Times, technologies, and routines have changed, and although much has been gained-for many of us, our sense of community has been diminished. Part of the large appeal of building a beautiful new playground is the adventure and pride our community will capture at its completion. Often, the means to achieving a goal is as rewarding as the goal. | |

| The Millennium Playground at Memorial Park in San Anselmo was designed from the input of over 500 children in our community who met with Robert Leathers, our internationally renowned playground architect, on Design Day in November of 1999. This playground is innovative and custom- designed for our children, and was built by all of us working side by side. | |
