Memorial Park - Parking Lot Rehabilitation

Work is underway to rehabilitate the Memorial Park Parking Lot off Veteran’s Place (near the Log Cabin and Millennium Playground).  The contractor, Ghilotti Bros., Inc, began on Monday, October 2, 2023.  The contractor hopes to have the lot repaved by Thanksgiving, with striping and other minor work completed in December.

Budget: $942,000 - Funding includes Measure D, Measure J, and General Fund
These improvements will serve our active community in providing safe and organized access for parking, drop-offs, and pedestrian and bicycle activity at Memorial Park with improved drainage and bio-retention.

Overview:
San Anselmo is rehabilitating and modernizing the Memorial Park Parking Lot. 

The scope of this project work includes:

  • repaving the parking lot, 
  • installing sidewalks on both sides of the lot, 
  • replacing the concrete valley gutter, 
  • installing bioretention to treat the storm drainage,
  •  installing conduit for future EV charging and solar pan
  • paving the path between the restroom and Alderney Road,
  • and installing piping for future recycled water.

The following areas will remain open during construction:

  • Memorial Park parking lot - The contractor will be doing the work in phases to keep as much of the lot available for public use as possible during construction.  There will be several days when the lot will need to be completely closed to perform the work.

  • Memorial Skate Park

  • Tennis courts
  • Picnic areas
  • Restrooms
