Friends of the San Anselmo Library

The Friends of the San Anselmo Library was established in 1975 to extend and improve the resources of our library. Recently we have financially contributed to library programs including most Childrens' programs,Tunstead Live, Tuesday Art Talks, and the Speaker Series. We've purchased needed equipment and made additions to the materials collections as requested by our Librarian.

Our active fundraising is primarily through membership dues and Town Books,
a bookstore in the heart of San Anselmo supported and run by the Friends of the San Anselmo Public Library.

Just around the corner from the Library Town Books sells used books, nearly new books and classics. From fiction and mystery to cooking and natural history and everything in between. All proceeds support our Library.

We always welcome new volunteers and could use help with:

  • Volunteering at Town Books

  • Sorting and evaluating donated books

  • Online book sales

Have fun, meet people, get first crack at buying great books.
100% of our proceeds benefit our community library...what could be better?

If you are interested in joining us, or have books to donate, please contact us at or at 415-526-3791.
