Landscape design professionals were invited to provide their qualifications, interest, capabilities, and experience in the creation of projects with comparable features, uses, scale, and municipal interface. A screening sub-committee of the Reimagine Creek Park Community Advisory Committee (CAC) reviewed qualifications from fifteen designers. At the CAC’s public meeting this week, seven entrants were approved to prepare concept design submissions.

Unlike traditional design competitions, which often require detailed and extensive design and technical solutions, the focus of the Reimagine Creek Park Design Competition has been to generate conceptual solutions that are most attuned and responsive to the needs and goals of the community. Submission requirements are simpler, focusing on larger concept ideas that create a project vision for the Creekside Commons in a clear, understandable way.
Concept designs are due to the Town by May 8, 2019.  The CAC will then select at least three of the concept designs to move on in the competition.  Those finalists will present their concepts at a Town Council meeting on May 28, 2019.
The selection of the winning design concept will be made by the Town Council based on the CAC evaluations and the finalists’ presentations. The winning concept will be determined at the June 11, 2019 Town Council meeting.
