Returning Items

Do you have library books and DVDs you checked out in March and want to return them? You can return all library materials to one of our book drops! Our book drops are open starting at 9am on Mondays and we close them at 5pm on Wednesdays.

Library staff have been fielding questions about items being returned but remaining on patron accounts days later. Please remember that we are quarantining all returned materials for at least 72 hours, possibly longer depending on staff availability. You might have returned items and then receive an email later reminding you to return those same items. Don't be confused -- those things are probably just in quarantine. If you returned items a few weeks ago but see them on your account, please contact the library.

Also, we now offer automatic renewals! You may see this new service described in emails about returning items or upcoming due dates. If an item can be renewed (i.e., no one is on the wait list), our catalog will automatically renew the item for you.

During this challenging time, we are not assessing overdue fines, so don't worry about that. As always, contact the library is you have any questions at 415-258-4656 or library@townofsananselmo.org.

100 Years Strong

Virtual Event: 100 Years Strong

Monday, July 13 at 6:30pm on Zoom

100 years ago women won the battle for the right to vote! With the use of photos, newspaper headlines, and other graphics from the period, this presentation weaves the raucous and often dangerous story of the journey from Seneca Falls to the final vote in the Tennessee legislature to ratify the 19th amendment. Sue Reams, San Anselmo resident and member of the League of Women Voters in Marin, will share this powerful and important piece of American history.
