Library Services Update

The public libraries in Marin have been working together on additional protocols in preparation for our next level of service. These protocols have been approved by the Marin County Health Department and libraries throughout the county are currently putting these new protocols into place. We are busy rearranging furniture, ordering sufficient PPE supplies and making decisions about
next-level services. When we re-open our doors, services provided could include modified browsing and access to public computers but will not include full access to services or extended time in the building. We're hoping to be ready to go with these next-level services in mid-October.

In the meantime, please continue to use our curbside service, which has been extremely popular. We love hearing how much you love it. Search the catalog (https://marinet.lib.ca.us/) to place holds on our materials. Then call us at 415-258-4656 or text us at 415-855-1597 to make an appointment to pick up your items. You can also call us for help with selecting books or other information needs. We're here to help! Want to know what's popular right now? Click here to see the most popular titles with holds.

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Fire-Smart an establish garden

Fall Gardening Series:
"Fire-Smarting" an Established Native Plant Garden

Wednesday October 7 at 1pm on Zoom

A large portion of home gardens and landscapes in Marin County are well-established and/or mature. But many may not be designed to deal effectively with wildfire. Homeowners with these gardens should begin to develop a fire-smart landscape design that protects structures while retaining or improving garden health, biodiversity and sustainability. But how can you do this in established gardens and landscapes? Where to begin and how to progress? Marin Master Gardener Bob Mauceli will share the steps he has taken on his own garden, and the future work he is planning, as a work-in-progress example of moving toward ‘Fire-smartness’ of an established garden. He hopes that this might suggest ways Marin homeowners might try to fire-harden their own established home landscapes while retaining healthy and enjoyable gardens.

October Art Talk Tuesday

Art Talk Tuesday
Last Supper in Pompeii

Tuesday, October 13 at 12pm on Zoom

In AD 79, the fiery eruption of Mount Vesuvius killed thousands of people in the midst of their daily activities, but the art and artifacts preserved by archaeologists offer us a picture of what life was like in Pompeii, a thriving Roman city during the 1st century. Docent speaker Marsha Holm will take us back into this world by focusing on everyday life and reveal the splendor and luxury so enjoyed by the wealthy Romans who called Pompeii their home.
