What We're Doing

The world has changed in 2020 and your San Anselmo Library has adapted to this ever-evolving world. Programs are now virtual on Zoom, YouTube, and Facebook and we've added new services like Grab and Go Craft Bags for Kids and Book Bundles. We continue to expand and improve Library Curbside, including new hours:

Mondays, 10am-2pm
Tuesdays, 2-6pm
Wednesdays, 10am-2pm
Fridays, 11am-3pm

We're also working diligently on our site-specific plan for opening our doors for some in-person library services. Please take our short survey to better inform our planning process:  https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/XTP3YDD. Thank you for your time.

Fire-Smarting a Garden on October 7

Fall Gardening Series:
"Fire-Smarting" an Established Native Plant Garden

Wednesday October 7 at 1pm on Zoom

A large portion of home gardens and landscapes in Marin County are well-established and/or mature. But many may not be designed to deal effectively with wildfire. Homeowners with these gardens should begin to develop a fire-smart landscape design that protects structures while retaining or improving garden health, biodiversity and sustainability. But how can you do this in established gardens and landscapes? Where to begin and how to progress? Marin Master Gardener Bob Mauceli will share the steps he has taken on his own garden, and the future work he is planning, as a work-in-progress example of moving toward ‘Fire-smartness’ of an established garden. He hopes that this might suggest ways Marin homeowners might try to fire-harden their own established home landscapes while retaining healthy and enjoyable gardens.

October 2020 Art Talk

Art Talk Tuesday
Last Supper in Pompeii

Tuesday, October 13 at 12pm on Zoom

In AD 79, the fiery eruption of Mount Vesuvius killed thousands of people in the midst of their daily activities, but the art and artifacts preserved by archaeologists offer us a picture of what life was like in Pompeii, a thriving Roman city during the 1st century. Docent speaker Marsha Holm will take us back into this world by focusing on everyday life and reveal the splendor and luxury so enjoyed by the wealthy Romans who called Pompeii their home.
