New EDC Email Address

The EDC now has an email address: EDC@townofsananselmo.org. So please be sure to add this address to your safe senders list. Future business updates will be sent from the Economic Development Committee.

VOTE Posters Available

The Economic Development Committee (EDC) has a series of Vote posters available that match the "Open for Business" campaign. The campaign was designed to appeal to San Anselmo’s sense of community and connectedness, create town esprit and be light hearted in these serious times. When posted throughout Town, posters convey the sense of a vibrant, resilient, energized community and let people know that we’re open for business. To view recommended poster hanging guidelines and to see the full line of available posters, click here. Let us deliver one to you or pick up signs in Town Council Chambers lobby (weekdays).

Reuse & Recycling During COVID-19

Is reuse safe during COVID-19? Yes! In a new guide from ReThink Disposable, food service businesses can explore options to keep customers safe while also putting the planet first!

The Town has placed green compost bins at Creekside Commons and Town Hall for composting pizza boxes and food waste from downtown visitors. Please remember that our waste hauler Marin Sanitary's organic compost facility does not accept "compostable" plastic gloves, utensils or food ware. Please see the Town's latest compostable food ware list here.

New Art In Town

The Marin IJ has covered San Anselmo Arts Commission's Utility Box Art Project. The project brings art to unexpected public places, enhances the beauty and artistic vibrancy of San Anselmo, creates awareness of local art, and discourages the ongoing issue of graffiti on utility boxes.

The Arts Commission is sponsoring the vacant storefront art exhibit at 538 San Anselmo Avenue. Featured artists are Helen Steele and Sunila Bajracharya. If you are interested in displaying art or historic photographs of San Anselmo in your vacant space, please contact Elise Semonian, Planning Director, by email or phone (415) 578-0112 for more information.

Temporary Outdoor Uses Allowed With Free Permit

The Town continues to accept free applications for temporary outdoor dining and outdoor business activities. This allows businesses to use outdoor spaces to resume operations in compliance with social distancing requirements imposed as a result of COVID-19. The application may be found here. Contact Dmitriy Laptev in Building/Public Works or stop by Town Hall (upstairs) between 8:30 am to 12:00 pm Monday - Thursday. Don't forget to wear a mask.

California Rebuilding Fund

For many of California's smallest business owners, the Paycheck Protection Program, EIDL and other SBA loan programs were simply not accessible or sufficient to save their business. The California Rebuilding Fund has been established to target businesses with fewer than 50 full time employees. "These businesses were already suffering from lack of access to affordable credit prior to COVID and will continue to as traditional lenders pull back." Sign up to receive more information here.
