Firewise

FIRE SEASON HAS STARTED - WE SHOULD ALL BE PREPARED

Have you seen this sign in different areas of San Anselmo?

It means that those neighborhoods have been organized into a Firewise community.  Whether it is for a few houses or many streets and blocks, Firewise certification gives national recognition to local neighborhoods where neighbors help neighbors to be prepared for wildfire. These grassroots organizations offer vital information, host group events, and help build our local communities to be fire-adapted, aware, and ready to respond to wildfire.

Sign up to be included in your local San Anselmo Firewise community:
Bald Hill - baldhillfirewise.org
Barber Tract - spencer.sias@gmail.com
Forest Avenue - mf@forrest-studios.com
San Francisco Boulevard -- firewisesfblvd@gmail.com
Winship Park -  firewise@firesafemarin.org
Yolandsdale - yolansdalefsg@gmail.com

If your address is not covered by one of these existing Firewise sites, consider starting your own neighborhood group. For information about how to do this contact https://www.firesafemarin.org or ask your nearest Firewise site if you can be included on its mailing list.

evacuation instructions
EVACUATED - CMPA SIGN

Help your First Responders conduct evacuations quickly during a disaster – get your free Evacuation Tag!

In an evacuation emergency, every second counts and time can save lives.  Using evacuation tags is a new tool to help us quickly identify which homes and buildings have been evacuated.  Residents and business owners use the tag when they evacuate and tie it in a location that is clearly visible from the street, so that first responders can see it from their vehicle.  It should be tied on a mail box, gate, fence, or front door that faces the street. This will save valuable time and allow emergency personnel to immediately move on to check the next place.  Central Marin Police, with our partners at the Central Marin and Ross Valley Fire Departments, are providing free evacuation tags to our communities.  Every household and business should have an evacuation tag.

Evacuation tags will be available at the following locations:

Corte Madera:
Central Marin Fire Station #13   5600 Paradise Drive
Central Marin Fire Station #14   342 Tamalpais Drive
