On Wednesday, October 27th, the Reimage Creek Park Community Advisory Committee (RCPCAC) will host another Community Input Open House event. This meeting will be held in-person in the San Anselmo Town Council Chambers between 6:30 and 8:00pm. This meeting will be held simultaneously on the ZOOM Webinar platform (use address above). At this event, the committee will display the design concepts that were generated based on input received to date, including input from the September 11th Open House event. Committee members, staff and the design team from RHAA Landscape Architects + Planners will be on hand to help answer questions, take additional comment on the latest iterations. Each of these meetings helps get the community closer to finalizing a design for the new Creekside Commons public space. This community project is being done in conjunction with the Marin County Flood Control & Water Conservation District. The Flood District will be moving into Phase 2 of the downtown flood control project which will entail the removal of the concrete abutments that currently hold up the plaza area which account for significant blockage of the creek’s flow. This work is scheduled to be carried out during the summer of 2022. The Town’s Creekside Commons project seeks to capitalize on the Flood District project by planning for and building a well thought out and desirable public space around the flood project contours that will serve the community for years to come.

New Vaccination Dashboard Tracks OutcomesEpidemiologists with Marin County Public Health have made it easier for residents to track hyperlocal COVID-19 vaccination statistics by adding new data to its COVID-19 vaccination data webpage. The new dashboard illustrates local COVID-19 outcomes and compares infection, hospitalization, and death rates of Marin residents who are fully vaccinated vs. unvaccinated. Previous data only compared daily case rates. By interacting with the new dashboard, viewers will have a better understanding of the risks of catching COVID-19, of being hospitalized for COVID-19, or of dying from COVID-19. “We're committed to using data for local understanding,” said Bethany Dominik, a Marin County Public Health epidemiologist who helped develop the dashboard. “We think it’s important for residents to see the protection vaccines are offering against serious illness and death within our own community.” Public Health’s key message points about COVID-19 remain the same: - The vaccines effectively reduce a person's risk of catching COVID-19 and spreading it to others.
- The vaccines are highly effective at preventing severe illness from COVID-19 requiring hospitalization.
- Getting vaccinated dramatically reduces one's risk of dying from COVID-19.
Since early in the pandemic, Marin County Public Health has uploaded and shared COVID-19 case figures by geography, demographic trends, key indicators, hospitalizations, deaths, and other data on its surveillance webpage. In January 2021, staff began posting daily and cumulative statistics provided by the California Immunization Registry and the California Department of Public Health. The running total reflects the number of people who live in Marin who have received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine from area hospitals, pharmacies and clinics as well as from Marin County Public Health points of dispensing. Public Health’s vaccine webpage includes more about dose distribution, scheduling appointments, facts and myths about COVID-19, and answers to frequently asked questions about the virus. Keep updated with the latest coronavirus facts by subscribing to receive Public Health’s nightly status update in your inbox. Register at coronavirus.marinhhs.org/subscribe. Anyone may text MARIN COVID to 468311 to receive texted information. Also, follow Public Health’s Facebook and Twitter accounts.
