STORM RESPONSE - SAN ANSELMO BUSINESSES
Recommendation to Install Flood Gates
The Town of San Anselmo is responding to the current storm with Public Works staff providing storm response to clogged storm drains, fallen debris and other hazards. Our Town's Emergency Operation Center (EOC) is activated and staff are working closely with the Ross Valley Fire Department, the Central Marin Police Authority, County Office of Emergency Services and with the National Weather Service.
Although there is no way to predict how this storm will ultimately impact our community, the Town encourages and recommends that business owners consider taking the following actions:
Recommendation: Flood Gates
It is highly recommended that if your business is open today and located in the downtown area, or if you are in an area prone to flooding, that you bring your flood gates to the front of your business and be ready to install if the creek rises this afternoon. You can view the creek flood gauges and cameras by visiting this site:
It is highly recommended that businesses that are closed on Sundays install their flood gates and/or take other actions to protect your business from potential flooding.
Recommendation: Move vehicles to higher ground
As part of your preparation plan, it is advised that you move your business or personal vehicles to higher ground. The Town typically takes this action for its own vehicles once the creek levels reach 10 feet.
Recommendation: Subscribe to ALERT MARIN
