Survey Results Are In

A big thank you to the 245 people that responded to our recent patron survey. We appreciate your time, input, and support and find that we can act on and clarify several issues immediately. Look for details in upcoming issues of The Hoot.
A surprising number of survey respondents lamented having to climb the library's front steps. Citing aging knees and various ailments or carrying strollers, they wished the San Anselmo Public Library had an elevator. Guess what? We DO have an elevator. It is located on the first floor of the Library building, accessible through the back parking lot or through the Town Hall Plaza (where the public bathrooms are). From inside the Library, the elevator is in the far left back corner as you face the check-out desk. If you're not clear where this is, next time you are in the building please ask a staff member to show you the elevator.

Alice Neel: People Come First

Art Talk Tuesday
Alice Neel: People Come First

Tuesday, April 12 at 12pm on Zoom

“For me, people come first,” American artists Alice Neel declared in 1950. “I have tried to assert the dignity and eternal importance of the human being.” Neel spent most of her life living and working in New York City, and her work testifies to the diversity, resilience, and passion of the people she encountered there. Ruth Modric, a docent from the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, will share paintings, drawings, and watercolors that position Neel as one of the 20th century’s most radical artists and a champion of social justice. These works illuminate Neel’s longstanding commitment to humanist principles that still resonate with the social and cultural politics of our time.

Survey response: DVDs
Did this DVD skip?

Comments from our recent library survey indicate that occasionally some of our older DVDs skip or fail to play -- a disappointing and frustrating experience. To alleviate this issue as much as possible, please look for the new stickers on the inside of every DVD and Blu-Ray. The stickers ask for you to check a box if the disc skips or fails to play properly. Library staff will look for those checks and take care of the problem by cleaning, removing, or replacing the DVD.
Thank you for helping us keep our collection functioning and current so that we can serve you better!
