Sorich Ranch Park
Features
- hiking trails
Amenities Sorich Ranch Park gives the park visitor a chance to experience the natural beauty of the San Anselmo hills. The park is relatively undeveloped with limited picnic benches and tables. Hiking trails lead off in many directions and vary in degree of effort required. The wide open spaces and secluded location give visitors the chance to enjoy nature in a restful environment. History In 1965, the Town of San Anselmo acquired the approximately 60-acre Sorich Dairy. In the 1990s, the San Anselmo Open Space Committee organized work parties and received over $30,000 in grants to improve the park. |
Today, the park is enjoyed by many who seek a tranquil open space with stunning views of Mt. Tamalpais, Bald Hill and the Seminary. The Open Space Committee also cooperated with the Marin County Open Space District to install a trail connecting San Anselmo to the fire roads leading to Mt. Tamalpais Cemetery and the Terra Linda Divide. This trail is found east of the parking lot and is a gradual climb to the ridge top overlooking San Rafael, the bay, and San Francisco.
Location
Follow San Francisco Boulevard to a dead end at the parking area inside the park.
